Let me introduce myself…
Hi, I’m Sarah. While I specialize in trauma, including PTSD and C-PTSD, as well as substance use, I believe we can address whatever challenges you’re facing—whether it’s anxiety, depression, or navigating life changes. I have extensive experience working in these areas, and I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, exposure therapy, and mindfulness practices. No matter where you are in life, I’m here to meet you where you are.
Life can be tough, and it’s even harder when you’re navigating it alone. I’m passionate about mindfulness—both in life and in therapy—because I’ve seen how deeply it can transform the way we approach challenges. The benefits of being present in the moment and practicing mindfulness are profound, helping us find clarity, peace, and resilience even in the toughest times. Exposure therapy also plays a key role in helping us confront and work through fears, breaking the cycle of avoidance, and leading to lasting change. I’d be honored to walk alongside you through whatever you’re going through, offering a judgment-free environment where you will truly be heard. Together, we’ll create a blueprint tailored just for you—a plan that allows you to move forward in a healthy, mindful way. There’s no quick fix, but the guidance I offer comes from a place of truth and authenticity. We will walk this road together, because here’s what I know: Life can be difficult, but we’re all seeking the same thing—peace, understanding, and the tools to live well. I’m truly excited to meet you and share this journey toward wellness together.
Education and Work History
I have received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, and am a Certified Mindfulness-Formed Professional. My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counseling, during which I completed core coursework in both Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health.
I hold current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - Supervisor (LPCC-S) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor – Clinical Supervisor (LICDC-CS). Before transitioning to full-time work in the clinical field, I earned my MBA in Management and spent significant time working in Corporate America.
In addition to my corporate career, I worked part-time for over 20 years at a Driver Intervention Program in Dayton, Ohio, which sparked my desire to pursue a career in clinical work. This passion led me to spend 12 years at a community substance use and mental health agency, where I worked as both a therapist and a supervisor for the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, Women’s Program, and Recovery Housing. This experience deepened my understanding of trauma and its effects, guiding me to specialize in trauma treatment.
For Fun
When I'm not working, I love to travel, with the goal of visiting every National Park in the United States. I've always been fascinated by lighthouses, and during a trip to Canada and along the eastern U.S. coastline, I had a life-changing moment at the Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I captured that moment in a photo, which is featured on my homepage. That experience was a turning point for my private practice. My passion for photography blossomed as I traveled, and in 2020, I embarked on a cross-country road trip to Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons—an experience that left me in awe. For me, experiences and memories are everything, so I love sharing them on my website.
